This past weekend I participated at an event called Hustle N Tussle, which is an all-styles Hustle Battle! The format is J&J, which means each lead and follow is randomly paired to do an improvised dance.
I got past the prelims for the first time ever… (I think I’ve done like… 4 other competitions before?). I try not to get hung up on results, but it’s kind of hard NOT to, so I’m so happy that not only did I pass the prelims but I won two rounds (out of the 5 that I danced).
This is one of my favorite rounds — luckily I got paired with Sandile, so we used a few hat-trick moves that we knew each other would know (lifts, dips, and such are tricky with a complete stranger!). The last dip at the end was a crowd pleaser ☺️ The second video is the same dance, just a different angle.
So tired and my nerves are frayed, but I’m glad that I did it!
